The Worms

Played by a couple of pieces of string dangling on the ends of two bits of cotton, the worms in Trevor’s stomach popped up fairly regularly in Pets. They were heard to discuss such matters as aircraft hijacks, the albums of Mike Oldfield and Abba and were voiced by the show’s producers Brian West and Andrew Barclay.

Interestingly, the inside of Trevor’s stomach was designed by Liam Sharp, who has since made quite a name for himself as a comic strip artist in the United States. Offered a spin-off series in 2007, the worms turned it down, saying that they didn’t want to “sell out to the man.”
